I checked it out real good. The big wheely thing is ready for the big ride. What ride? My mom, Doc Phyllis, is going to ride 100 miles to raise green papers for beans with cancer!! My sis, Kona, and I are going to miss her a lot when she goes in June, but it's OK 'cause this is for doin' good!
Mom said she always felt like she could only offer sympathy to friends who battled cancer and now she can do something! And we can help!! Go to my mom's Leukemia & Lymphoma Society web site so she can tell you more. She says lots and lots of beans have friends and family with cancer so it affects all of us.
Mom really appreciates everybody who helps... any amount helps. She's going to blog her training for the ride, too. And, if you can afford 75 green papers, she'll put your name on her jersey so you can cross the finish line with her. Or, if you can afford 150 green papers, she'll put your name on your body part of choice (arm, leg, like that)!! Hee, hee!
Now I've got to keep mom on a rigorous training schedule 'cause this ride is in the mountains! She's practicing every Saturday and gets up real early to do it (this is good for Kona and me, too... early breakfast!).
Here I'm demonstrating recuperative sleep. As you can see, she almost there, but still has a way to go. (Repeat after me, mom: Close eyes, go limp, sleep. Close eyes, go limp, sleep.) But she'll get there!! She's determined 'cause she's doin' this is for everybody who has fought cancer and everybody who is still fighting!
Yay for Doc Phyllis! I've recently lost my job so I can't afford to help, but I'm cheering you on.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome man-cat Jasper has grown into. : )
GO Doc Phyllis!!!
ReplyDeleteJasper, you are an excellent trainer! Go Doc Phyllis!
ReplyDeleteThat is pawsome! When is the due date for the green papers?
ReplyDeleteI like how you train Jasper!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to your mom ~ what a wonderful thing she is doing!
Wow - thanks Lisa! The Leukemia and Lymphoma society has a new champion! I'm trying to learn from Jasper, he's clearly got the whole "recovery thing" dialed in! I have to guarantee to the society on March 19th that I'll reach my fundraising goal of $4300, so I'm trying really hard to have most of the money raised by then.

ReplyDeleteSounds PAWesome! Mom wishes she could help out but the beans are in a very tight financial strain right now. It's seems like it's taking them furrever to get out of it too!
