Well, she said Gus had a good home, she just didn't say it was yours...

Words aren't really necessary, now are they?? :-) Those two boys are going to be a wonderful pair!!

Yes, Gus has a new home with Mimi and Patrick! You may recall that early in Gus' story, a certain young man insisted that a couple of weeks of his allowance go to help Gus get better. But wait! There's more!! And I'll tell you all about it tomorrow. :-)

Gus' arrival was a complete surprise to Patrick. How you held onto it so long, Mimi, I'll never know! That last picture is Patrick looking up at Mimi and saying, "Thank you, Mom!!!" (Yep, she had the camera.)

We had a blast tonight and it's late, but I wanted to get this post up, quickly, to let you know the good news! Lotsa details, video and more pics tomorrow!

  1. Oh my heavens! I can't decide which picture is the sweetest!! Honestly, this gave me goosebumps.

Thank you Lisa, Mimi, Patrick, Gus, Dr. A, everyone who chipped in on the surgery, and mostly Lisa's co-worker whose name escapes me.

This is truly what it's all about.

  2. Oh, this makes me so happy that I stayed up tonight! I'm so glad that Gus has found his boy-- what a wonderful new beginning for him. His story wormed its way into my heart from the beginning, and I kept telling my boyfriend that if we lived closer I'd want to adopt him for myself. I hope Mimi and Patrick have promised many pictures and updates; I had no idea Gus would be graduating from Hubble Space Paws so soon, but that's always a good thing!

  3. That first picture of Patrick seeing Gus, oh my gosh, I started tearing up right then and there. I'm so glad that Gus found such a special home! And of course, that Patrick and Mimi found such a special kitty.

Hooray! I'm so glad I decided to check the blogs out tonight.

  4. Oh, dear. Now I'm crying. I had such a horrid day, and I'm so very tired, but this made me cry happy tears. That first picture must be exactly how I looked, 10 years ago, when my parents surprised me with my sweet Millie. I wish Patrick and Gus many happy years of purrs and fun.

And now, I'll tell Patrick what my mom told me:

He'll be your best friend. He'll listen to you and he'll never tell your secrets. Treat him well and he will give it back ten times over.

  5. Oh, MAN! It's not even 7am yet and I'm already sniffling. I am so happy for Mimi, Patrick and Gus - they will make a wonderful family.

And ditto what Meg said - whatever you put into an animal, they will give you back 10x over. But somehow, I think that they already know that. Best wishes to all of you! *sniffle* *snuffle*

  7. Oh, Patrick, CONGRATULATIONS! I know I just yelled, but I just couldn't help it. Patrick, you loved Gus long before he moved into your life and Gus must already know that love. I'm just delighted for both of you.

  23. Oh I am so happy Gus found a good home and to hear that it was Patrick, the little boy who wanted to help almost brought me to (happy) tears! I am sure they will have a wonderful time growing up together!

Ok, I have to move away from the post now - I am at work and they are giving me weird looks. I am so so happy for Gus though!!

  24. You should have a kleenex warning at the beginning of this post *sniff*. I'm so glad that Gus has such a happy ending, the little fella deserves it.

Thank you and all the wonderful people who look out for the kitties. With all the craziness in the world, sites like Space Paws and IBKC restore some of my faith in humanity.

  27. Okay, I'm joining the weepy crowd. Everytime I look at these pictures, it starts all over again. Patrick, you remind me of myself when my dad came in one day shortly before Christmas with a 9-month-old orange tabby over his arm. Pete was my best buddy throughout my childhood and into college. I wish you the same kind of joy and love that I had with him. You certainly deserve it for your kindness and generosity. And Gus deserves a great family. Who else can I acknowledge before I start crying again...oh, yeah.....thank you Lisa!

  28. Hi Lisa,

I have just this minute finished posting the sequel to the Space Paws feature on the LOLSpot.

Thanks for all the comments you have been making. It's nice to share the LOLs with the new families of these kitties. Maybe the True Bloods would like to take a peek, as well. I did one more of them today, and I think it's destined to be a classic.

I have truly enjoyed this experience, and once I have featured a blog, I usually sneak back every now and then to do a few more. So keep your eyes peeled!

    Enjoy!
