Hey folks, foster help is needed.... spread the word! Especially if you live in or around Richmond VA. I'll let Meg tell you all about it. Big congrats to Kathleen for being willing to ask for some help! Let's not let her down!!
Lisa
Hi All,
A hometown friend, Kathleen, is having a hard time right now. She needs to quickly find a temporary foster home for her cat Cheese (aka the Cheester). Kathleen doesn't want to give him up permanently and she DEFINITELY doesn't want him to have to go to a kill shelter. She has about a week to get him temporarily re-settled. He needs someplace to stay until she can get back on her feet. If you live, or know people who live, in the Richmond Va area, please help us find Cheese a place to live. Kathleen is also willing to place him in a foster home in the surrounding states. The important part is to find someone to love, care and house Cheese until his Mom can take him back.
Here are the facts about gorgeous Mr. Cheese. Kathleen brought Cheese home to live with her about 6 years ago. He is now a healthy 9-year-old long-hair orange kitty man. Cheese is loving and quite the gentleman. He's a tad "floofy" in that he weighs 18 lbs but he insists it's all "hair weight." He has been neutered, declawed and he's up-to-date on his vaccinations. Cheese doesn't have any outstanding health or behavior issues. As if all that goodness wasn't enough - he is incredibly handsome. I mean - check out his fantastic face in the attached pic!
His Mom is willing to put money toward his care while he is being fostered. She is also willing to transport him to a foster home in surrounding states, if need be.
Do you know of anyone who might be willing to temporarily foster him? Please, please, please forward this message to all your friends and rescue contacts. Please feel free to post it on blogs and FB pages. We don't have long to help him find a place to stay.
Thank you so much for trying to help Cheese. Please contact Kathleen directly at ilovethisland3 yahoo com .

I posted this to a friend on FB who lives in Virginia Beach. She's fostered before. No guarantees, but it's worth a shot, right?
ReplyDeleteWhat a face. We are sending lots of purrs for Cheese to find a great foster home, and for his mum to have lots of luck getting back on her feet.
ReplyDeleteWe'll contact our contacts in hopes of finding a foster home for Cheese! Sending both Cheese and Kathleen many purrs.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for posting and forwarding Cheese's info. He has found a foster home! He will be living it large with an Associate Dean at the College of William & Mary. Perhaps he will receive an honorary degree! ;-) His Mom Kathleen is thrilled even though it's a bittersweet moment. She will be able to see him on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteMy gratitude to all of you for your prayers, posts and good wishes. If I can ever help, please don't hesitate to ask.
Meg (aka Catmama and Cheese's advocate)
