The courtyard at Casa Maples has been expanded! The kittens insisted on the renovation. It was clear they needed more room to stretch their little legs and it was easy enough to pull back the gates. That's a 2' x 4' section of Masonite (hardboard, for those of you who don't know it by the old-fashioned name) forming the final wall. Lordy, I love that stuff... so many uses, so strong, so light... bendable and, best yet, no kitten-unfriendly chemicals!
The kitten proofing of the back basement (yep, I decided it was easier to kitten-proof the back than the kitchen) is almost complete, so they'll have even more run room shortly. Here are the kittens about 5 minutes into checking out the improved digs:
Once the kittens got past explore mode, they got down to some serious playing:
When Mom arrived on the scene, they descended on her like little vultures - 'sploring'n'playin' is hungry work!
And when chow time was over, it was off the the cozy corner for a little nap.
This weekend, I'm going to try to get some footage of the lovely Miss Aggie at play. :-)
Oh, what a perfect way to start off my day, kitten videos galore! Have I mentioned how much I love these videos? Loved seeing the Maples exploring their new digs, which is fabulous by the way :) They're all so cute, but somehow I think my heart belongs to little George, that sweet wobbly little orange boy just melts my heart...and poor little Fred, trying to find some space at the lunch buffet...just too cute for words.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you for these videos, they're just wonderful :)
May I second Hyacinth's enthusiasm for the videos. They are priceless.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I'm surprised those little goobers haven't managed to scale the wall! Perhaps a bit too young and unsure yet. But soon, I betcha!
...and I bet that the first one over the wall is going to be spunky little miss Ginny!
ReplyDeleteBTW, for the first time I could tell which of the kittens is which - the intro videos really helped!
I'm so glad you guys like the videos. They're so much easier to take of the little guys than photos (albeit they take much longer to post). I have a new respect for the photos that Laurie and Sue get of their broods!!
ReplyDeleteSue, I agree with you! The basement is almost ready... I figure about the time the kittens figure out how to escape the courtyard, I'll have it kitten-proofed! ;-)

The videos are absolutely, positively wonderful. They bring a smile to my face and the occasional tear to my eye as I watch these precious ones frolicking about. Nothing can match a kitten when it comes to sheer energy and love of life! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh so cute - these are wonderful videos. I am sure they love their new expanded area!
