A Thankful Weekend!

Wow, this impromptu mini-sabbatical weekend sure went quickly! Lots of good rest and relaxin' with the kittehs... I'm sorry it must end but glad to be back posting and visiting!

First, thank you to everyone who wished us a wonderful Thanksgiving! We did! And we hope you all did, too!!

The kittehs pigged out on the big bird leftovers (last installment tonight!). I am thankful to my sister for cooking it all up for the family and sending home a huge care package for the critters.

But most of all, I am thankful for everyone who has helped Space Paws during the few short months we've been on the intertubes... with fostering (Sharon, Mitch, Hannah, Monica & Sonia); with graphics (Danny G and Ann); with encouragement and donations (Yes, that's you gentle readers and folks at the 'tute! Too many to name and all soooo very appreciated!); and, most especially, each and every adoptive mom and dad! Meghan, Jill, Peter, Phyllis, Patrick and Mimi... THANK YOU! Thanks to you, six wonderful kittehs have equally wonderful forever homes.

To start to get you in the mood for the winter holidays, here's a post just in from Patrick. Seems Gus is thankful for the Christmas tree.

  1. Oh, Gus! My brother and his wife had a kitten knock over their tree one year, and I'm keeping a close eye on my Harley with my tree! No low-hanging ornaments, no sir!

He is currently asleep under the tree, basking in the glow of the lights. I'll get a picture and put it on the blog in the next few days.

  2. Glad to hear you had a nice relaxing holiday weekend with the kitties :) Bet they loved the care package from your sister ;)

Gus seems to admire the tree without wanting to destroy it...wish we could put up a tree but with Bailey the scope of destruction would be epic :)

  3. Gus is adorable! Glad you had some time off. I can't wait for my Christmas vacation. This little Thanksgiving weekend was way too busy for me (me and my pottery and all). But still, it was very good.

Since all my stuff is still in the living room, we're not going to have a Christmas tree. I wonder how 9 and Chani would react to one...

  4. I haven't the nerve to put up a tree yet, maybe next year. Since I'm headed home for 10 days for Christmas, it seemed silly to try this year. Maybe next year, when Katia is no longer a kitten and has mellowed a bit (one can hope...)

  6. Glad to hear you had a good holiday! The horde at our house got some turkey as well, and they all enjoyed it immensely!

We are getting ready to put our tree up as well, but without decorations for a bit. We need to see how our two new kittehs will react to the tree. I expect to pick it up off the floor at least once.

  7. Alas, we have not put a tree up in 5 years. Once the cats were old enough to (hopefully) leave it alone, we got a puppy. He is 3 now, but I think we may just be too lazy to do it! We put lights and balls on our ficus. Not really the same. Glad you had a relaxing Thanksgiving!

  8. It's wonderful to see Gus again, even so briefly! It's obvious he's a very well-loved kitty.
