We are pleased to introduce Miss Ginger (Ginny) Blank Priscilla Maples

Yes, Ginger (Ginny) was the favorite girl's name among the suggestions, so this was a natural. It also inspired our choices for the boys. Why does she have two middle names, one of which is quite unusual, you may ask. Check out the picture of the names chosen in yesterday's post. Melissa drew a blank slip I'd neglected to cull from the pile and said, "Well, she can just have two middle names, then!" ;-)

Here's a little clip of Ginny, after we took her glamor shot (sorry about the shaky camera work):

And here's a shot after she exited little red velvet thingy and made a beeline for mom. This occured approximately 37.3 seconds after she was placed in the LRVT. I wish you could see her brothers looking on jealously! Yep, she's definitely leader of the pack when it comes to adventure.

  4. Awww...I am so pleased to meet you, Ginger! Is it legal for one kitten to be in possession of such incredible cuteness? We need to check Maryland's Maximum Allowable Cuteness Per Capita just to be sure ;-) And that scratchy little voice of hers - how adorable!

If I didn't have a full house already, I'd be camped on your doorstep in hopes of adopting some of these precious ones. Thank you for sharing!

  6. No, little Ginny is definitely a cuteness criminal. She needs to be awwwwwwwrested.

Sounds like she just installed her meow and it's still a little stiff, needs some more use before it runs smoothly.

  9. I laughed and laughed with glee! The middle name is perfect. You dames are a little whack ~ after my own heart.

And it seems Miss Ginny responds on cue. Love her matching orange blotchies on the front legs.

  12. Oh my goodness she is sooo precious!! I have a weakness for little ginger kittens.

I gave Oliver some extra pets and told him they were from you this morning. He looked up and mewed, so I'm assuming that means "thank you"!

  14. I didn't know STScI had this going on! How did I not know this?! I just donated at the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee and happened to see "Hubble Space Paws" - can I get involved and help you all? The email link isn't working on this loaner computer from the Institute (ha!) so could someone send me an email to gonigam@stsci.edu? I'm up in the library :)
